The start of a new beginning .....

Today is a quick post and I'm sorry I haven't got a make for you but,......

You saw the pictures of the ladies in my craft room yesterday working on their re-inkers project well this is the room today

I promised them that at the next class on 15th June they would have the space to do the Oki-koki around the table. The problem now is, where to I put all this

More tomorrow.

A project of three with instructions!

The other three cards use a different technique, this one requires baby wipes and the reinkers.

Lots of people have talked about this but its new to me and I have to say took me some time to get it good enough to try in a class.
There is so much colour in these I have kept the card quite simple. The stamp set is watercolour wings, mostly using the small butterfly. The butterfly is stamped on white card which is then matted onto one of the stampin'up notecards, with the new precision plate die cutting these intricate butterflies is a doddle!
We made 3 of these then put them into a glassine bag which we decorated with the  banner punch and another butterfly.. It would make a lovely little gift.

Here I have made a series of pictures of the ladies making these cards.

We were well on our way with making the cards when I remembered I needed to take lots of pictures, so we have lots of visual clues instead. This one says
 'You need 4 wet wipes'
They have to be folded in half and piled up onto of each other.

This one shows you
You need to drop ink from the re inkers at a height of at least 8"
We used 3 colours,
Next you
press your stamp onto the ink
Ensure you do not jiggle it around as this merges all the ink colours into a muddy puddle!

Then stamp

The image contains all the colours of the re-inkers. We had quite a variety of colour combinations. This butterfly is wisteria wonder, garden green and marina mist.

These butterflies are calypso coral, bermuda bay and  daffodil delight.

These cards are rich razzleberry, old olive and pink pirouette.

The three cards were then put into a glassine bag and stapled with a banner and a butterfly, final touch tied with bakers twine, such a pretty gift.
I think my ladies did really well, once the technique was mastered then did their own thing with daubing, embellishments and matt layers.

Well thats the last class at my house, next month the second Wednesday of the month group will be meeting in Our Creative Den........ more information coming soon.

And another with Bokeh?

We usually make 3 or 4 cards at a class, today we are making 5! This is the second using the same technique as yesterday.
I have used the flower stamps from Sale-a-Bration. I think this is the best stamp set we have ever had for sale-a-bration.

An unusual colour combination for me. Elegant eggplant, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette and Garden Green.  I am really going to miss the seam binding it makes such lovely bows and knots.

Another stunner? I would love to receive a card like this.

New Technique Bokeh?

I have a class tomorrow and was asked to do this new technique. I have loads of backgrounds made but what to do with them and what colours to stick to. In the end I went back to the lovely swallowtail as it was still out from the blog hop last Saturday. The pictures on this are not brilliant as we have had quite a grey day and needed lights on.

I have used 2 of the new in colours for this one, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo, along with my old favourite Rich Razzleberry. So these three colours were daubed over some whisper white then with a stencil of 4 sizes of circles punched out I added the white ink. I find its very messy but am so pleased with the results it makes it worth it.

Finally to make it a bit different I have stamped an extra wing, sticking along the body then covering with a old large pearl and some of the white embellishments. The whole is them matted and layered with the sweet sugarplum and flirty flamingo card onto a rich razzleberry base card.

I think its quite a stunner what do you think?

This months makes are very similar to what I posted last Friday. They are to show off the new 'In Colours' and I do like them all. I thought the 'Emerald Envy was a bit over the top and I'm very much a green person but now I have used it a few times its a firm favourite.
Which colour do you like the best?

Swallowtail flies

Jems Bloghop: May: Retirement List.

Well it is with great sadness that I say goodbye to the wonderful swallowtail stamp. Sadly it is retiring this time and there are non left to order. Mine is wood mounted and the wood is well stained as it has been very well used.

This is todays make using bermuda bay and the Thick White card which allows this to be a single layer card.

The rhinestones look pink as they reflect back the colour of my iPad cover but they are the sparkly rhinestones!

If you are rushing off to see the next blog use these buttons, or if you have time scroll down and see some of my previous makes with the Swallowtail stamp.

My past makes. The butterfly box was the first workshop I ever ran. We had 12 people all decorating a box.

A special card for a special friend.
