Box Frame Winter scene,

Late post today as this is something that has been buzzing round in my head whilst we have been on holiday. Nothing to do with where we went either.
I love these box frames from a certain store, you can do so many different things with them. This is my first in a series. Although it isn't Christmas themed it does have Christmas elements. The deer or at least the antlers are very 'in' this year. I have had to take some of the pictures without the flash to give you a really good impression of the depth of the box and its scene.

I started with the background and the 'Lovely as a Tree' stamp set, just using the large single pine tree. This I have stamped, stamped off and repeated, I then used the same technique on the front inner frame. To get the land for the trees to sit in I used the ground from the 'Sheltering Tree' set.
Sandwiched between the two layers I have embossed then fussy cut the Woodland embossing folder in smokey grey card. Before embossing I have stamped the folder with the deer from 'The Wilderness Awaits' set. Lastly I have stamped a second deer and fussy cut out adding to the front.

I am so pleased with this. It has turned out just the way I hoped. I had thought of giving more colours to the sky, a bit Northern Lights but decided this would be too much. I like the simplicity of this finished piece. Hope you do too.

Have you got a stack of those lovely tartan cushions, some with stag heads on? This would make a lovely picture for your wall.

The two taken without the flash, funny how it makes everything look yellowed. But it does show the depth better

  2. I know this is 2 years later, but I just stumbled across this card in a Google Image search and it jumped out at me... just beautiful!! There is so much depth to this card, I feel like I'm in the woods with these deer! Nicely done!
