Creative Saturday

I have had a bit of a play with the 'Rooted in Nature' stamp set. I have had this one for quite a while but not really had a play. This is my first round of cards with this set and as usual once I got going the ideas started to flow. I think at some point I will also make some very simple cards with the designer paper which matches this set. I just love the colours in the papers.

I think you will agree there is quite a range of cards here!

This is the sample from On Stage, It makes a great display of all the elements from the set. The great sentiments, the beautiful delicate stamps, the glorious coloured matching designer papers and to top it off those lovely embellishments. There is also a pack of 4 spools of bakers twine. I must use that at some point for one of the cards.

This second card is all about just one of the designer papers. I haven't stamped those leaves, it is one of the designs. I have added the sentiment which is from the 'Happy Birthday Gorgeous' in Mint Macaron, one of the returning colours, layered onto a mint macaron matt, both die cut with the 'Stitched Framelits. The ribbon is mint macaron but now retired. Well we all have to keep a bit of spakle.

The third card is all stamped. I have used Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide and crumb cake. All these leaf stamps are part of the set. Then I fussy cut one of each design. I do have the dies but I enjoy fussy cutting, I know a bit sad! I love the sentiment, this is stamped in Tranquil Tide. The big round slice through the trunk has been fussy cut too which I have underneath the sentiment, the slice of lemon lime twist card just balances the project.

Watercolour at its simplest. I have masked off the two sides of the card leaving this funnel down the centre. I used an aqua painter very quickly starting at the top with blue - Night of navy then blueberry bushel (a new in colour) then lemon lime twist and a little tranquil tide. The tree and sentiment are stamped with momento. Plus I have used a strand of the matching bakers twine. Love this one. Very simple but looks good.

Finally my favourite fold..... a z fold. One the front I have used the woodland embossing folder which remains in this years annual catalogue. The tree has been fussy cut as have the leaves. I have kept to a limited colour palette of Soft Suede, garden green and crumb cake. The sentiment is from the set.

In the picture below I have also made a little milk carton style box with the designer paper.
