Thank You cards using Banner Dies

Every month I have a minimum of 6 thank you cards to make . These are for my Stampers 6 Group. They order £25 of product very month for 6 months and take it in turns to be the hostess, getting the hostess benefits. This is a virtual party and a great way of spreading the costs of your hobby and getting something free without the fuss of hosting a party. Although if you want a party in your month to boost your sales and so your hostess freebies you get priority booking. :)

So the banner frame lets had been in their packet for 8 weeks without earning their keep. I have a sample of all the designer papers in the new catalogue but hadn't used any.  I investigated the packets of papers carefully and felt these had real impact. What do you think? They are called 'Confetti Celebration'.

The sentiment is from the 'Lots of Thanks' set. I chose the ink colours to match up with the papers and then the cotton ribbon, which is lovely and narrow, to match.

Hostess stamp set: Life's Adventure

My eldest son has moved back to Oxford this month. I haven't seen the flat yet but he reckons they will be there for a while which is good as I love Oxford.

This is his welcome card I wanted to encompass more than just the house move as he has a new job and seems to be more settled than he has been for a long time.

The stamp set used is one of the hostess sets. Hold a party and get a great stamp set for a tenner!
I have used the stamping up markers to colour the stamp before stamping.
The sentiment is from 'The really good greetings' set which has an interesting variety of 6 stamps.

The base card is Cajun Craze, not a colour I have used very often but it looks good with the very vanilla. The Designer paper is from the 'Flashback' collection.

Polka Dot Pieces

Neutrals and bright. The new 'In Colour' Hello Honey is lovely, it makes me think of Autumn, (feels like it today as well) Using the neutrals for the flowers continues the theme.
The sentiment is from the Love Labels. In the catalogue the stamps and the punch come as a bundle giving you 15% discount. Who loves a bargain?

Once you have stamped the flowers you have to carefully match the scallop punch to the shape to punch out. The flower centre is punched out with the tiny circle punch. They are finished off with a tiny pearl in the centre.

This years In Colour ribbon is LUSH. Its glossy and satin smooth and it ties bows beautifully whilst continuing to be easy to manipulate to the position you want. I highly recommend it.

Polka Dot Pieces

This time for the class I used the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set with a Christmas theme.

The matt paper layer is from the stack 'Moonlight' on pg 185 of the catalogue. (need a catalogue get in contact).  Once cut to fit the card the offcuts are used to punch out the leaves with the bird punch!

The bird is stamped on whisper white with lost lagoon, the pattern on the birds body reminds me of feathers. The birds wing is punched out of a small piece of lost lagoon card.

The glimmer paper now comes in five shades. Here I have used 'Dazzling Diamonds' for some extra leaves. It really does add that bit of sparkle.

The sentiment is stamped with one of the new sets from the seasonal stamp set. The polymer is so easy to use for words and letters as it is see through. The raised scallop circle is the 'Round Array stamp set. This set is so useful.

Finally the white matt layer is embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder. Love this one!

Once we had put the card together we used the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz on pg 210 in the catalogue. It has just added a little glimmer to the bird.

Christmas sneak peek

Last Sunday I went to 'Art in the Pen' in the sheep auction mart in Skipton. I was inspired, this is just the start of the ideas, but it has taken me 3 days and the bin is quite full of trials!

I haven't completed the cover yet and still have more ideas buzzing. I will be running a class using this stamp set, watch this page for dates.

Bloom with Hope

Another card using the hostess set. The five sentiments are created in this lovely script, there are five in total,

The large flower lends itself to blendies, the water brush and cutting and layering.

Here I have used the water brush and kept the colours very pale. The leaves are also part of the stamp set.

Polka Dot Pieces

I had four lovely ladies come round and craft yesterday afternoon. We made 3 cards using the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set.
The first one uses that layer technique which I am quite new to but I know others have been doing this for years!
As 2 of the ladies were quite new to stamping I kept it simple with one colour and one stamp........ butterflies galore all in 'perfect plum'.

Pretty in Pink

ooops I missed yesterday.

This is another card using the Hostess set of stamps 'Bloom with Hope' This stamp set has 11 stamps. If you host a party with £150 in sales it could be yours for £15. A real bargain.

All papers, card and ink are strawberry slush even though the spotty paper looks red in the picture.  The new thick Bakers Twine in matching colour looks good and just adds that bit of texture.

Curvy Keepsake Box

Well my blog and Facebook page seem to have got out of sinc......
New start this week, plan to blog  every day! Lets see if I can.

Today we have a lovely little box. Using the curvy keepsake box die. The box and 3 tags come out of one sheet of A4 card. Its very simple to put together and I think looks very professional. A lovely way of giving small gifts.
I have decorated using wash tape, something I have found not to my taste for cards but here its brilliant. I have used one of the new ones in the seasonal catalogue. Its a pack of 5 rolls in the All is Calm colour theme. Just love it.

Lullaby DSP

A friend of mine who I haven't seen for ages has a little girl who was one a few weeks ago. This was the One I made for her that I took today.

I love the papers (DSP) called Lullaby. The soft peach colours are delicious and so pretty.

The little dancing girl is no longer available but so perfect for this project I just couldn't resist.

The banner is made using the banner punch, hung on crisp cantaloup twine.

Little Buddy Pop Up Box

Whilst the Little Buddy set was still on my desk I just had to make one more.

Love these little box cards. They are a bit fiddly to make but so effective. I have managed to arrange the string of the balloons through the birds beak!

Pity the pictures are not so good. Still really pleased with this.

Hamburger box die

A bit of a departure from cards and things I usually make.

These are made using the Big Shot die cutting machine and the new Stampin'Up! Hamburger Box die.
Plus quite a few punches.
The white gel pen adds to the eyes and a pack of sponges is needed for all the daubing!

When using the die I recommend cutting up  one side of each flap rather than the hill and valley folds, you get a much tidier finish.

Check out my online shop to buy the Hamburger Box die. www.karenwatts.stampinup.net

Also at the moment there is an amazing deal......

If you buy a Big Shot during the month of August you get to choose a die bundle for free

If you are thinking of getting one now is the time
