Review of the year - December

There have been even fewer posts to choose from this month. Probably because its been so busy. I have picked my little fairy frame from the Jems blog hop which is held every first Saturday of the month, so watch out this time next week.

Thanks for reading and following my blog and Happy New Year.

Review of the year - November

Another month short on posts and quite a few I would like to feature here. I have gone with one large kusadami flower made with the lightweight christmas designer paper. It is stunning.

Review of the year - October

There weren't as many blogs in October as previous months, not sure why.
This month I have picked a fancy fold card, here it is done in christmas style but also with the little foxy stamps and punch, it makes a lovely birthday card. It also fits into a standard envelope  which is surprising.

Review of the year - August

Now this is a hard one, there was a commissioned frame for a third wedding anniversary which I loved making and I was very pleased with the result.
There were two cards made with the 'Thoughtful Branches' (as last month) but a hedgehog card and a sheep card, links to the original pinterest find are on the blog.
But I decided to go with something a bit different, not stamping for this one. My first bauble make....

I just think this is so pretty, no sewing, all pinned.

Review of the year - July

'Thoughtful Branches' was one of those, only available for a short time, stamp sets and matching dies, but I have to say I think its one of the best sets Stampin'Up have ever produced, its so versatile. It is a set I will keep and use for a long time to come.

This was one of the first cards I made with the set, it is cased from one I saw on pinterest really sorry no link back, if you do check pinterest I'm sure you will see just how versatile this set is.

Review of the year - June

There was no competition this month. I loved the little strawberry basket. It took me 5 minutes to make the basket and about 5 weeks to get the strawberries right!!! In each strawberry was a Lindt chocolate ball. After we had made these we went on to have a beautiful afternoon tea, with strawberries of course, after all it was Wimbledon month.

Review of the year - May

Another hard month to choose from but I have gone with the instructional post for using re inkers and wet wipes. This was a new technique for me so I had done a lot of practise before the class, as it was new to my customers we took it step by step.
The finished cards:-

Review of the year - April

For April I have chosen 2 cards as I loved them both. They are both large 6" x 6" square. Theres lots of stamping, some fussy cutting and the background is daubed, the second card also has lots of stamping, some watercolour and a little heat embossing. I still can't choose between them. Which would be your favourite.

Review of the year - March

Rather than a card for this months review I have picked a three D item, not sure I would call it home decor but I know I enjoyed making them. They both have great sentiments and the use of background stamps Timeless Textures. which I continue to use in my mixed media makes.  There is also plenty of daubing! I  enjoyed working with the lightweight corrugated card, sadly my stash is now empty.

And some detail.

Review of the year - February

What a busy person I was in February, so many lovely ames to choose from, butterflies.... botanicals, birthday blooms and grateful bunch, it was too hard to choose so I picked 2. And one of them I picked three times! Here they are.....

Thats three colour ways using grateful bunch, then below is a make with the Birthday blooms. I think the sentiment on this one is lovely.

Review of the year - January

I thought for the last 12 days of the year I would look back and pick one item from each month. So today I am starting with January. I had one of those milestone birthdays in January of this year so this card really suited the occasion. The punch and pink glitter card are both available in the main catalogue still. Plus there are more ballon stamps and dies in the new spring summer catalogue coming soon.
The balloons are great as they work for so many occasions, be it birthday, congratulations, wedding, birth, anniversary the list goes on, as well as for both male and female.

Sneek Peek Thursday

You had a sneak peek last week so today I thought I would bring you another one,  this one will make you smile.....
Now  I loved this as soon as I saw it. We live on a drive that has a farm at the end of it and the chickens roam free, they look so soft and cuddly but of course I can't get anywhere near them! I love to see them run just like on the film 'Chicken Run'. The set is called Hey Chick and its Free so whats not to like.
Here is make number one, we all be using this set in our next Saturday workshop on January 21st. Check out my classes page. Its  Stamp a Sack full of cards and we will be using lots of new things from the spring/summer catalogue.

Although it doesn't show very well on these pictures I have used the fine tip glue to highlight the red cockscomb and the long red feathers on the Polish chicken although I know they are usually black and white so I will make a black and white card this weekend. The fine tip glue takes some time to dry, it looks like a thick glass when it is dry, a great way to highlight something.

A finished project

Blog posts have got a bit erratic of late and I can't see that changing for the next couple of weeks, Why not add your email address in the box and you will then get notification when I post something new for you.

Well this project has been some time in the making, but I am now happy with the finished result.  Just in time for this christmas, I had a thought that it might have to be put away for next year!

What do you think?

Just got to love that little wren sat on the O.

Sneek Peek

New spring summer catalogues will be going in the post soon, so today I have for you my first little dabble with them. I'm not going to say anymore just show you a few pictures!
There is a huge mistake in one picture, didn't try it first on my grid paper, can you spot it?

Back to Christmas stuff tomorrow.

Paisleys and Posies

Whilst I love the heart frame in the seasonal Stampin'Up catalogue made with the Paisleys and Posies stamp set I wanted to do my own thing. I have picked the colours that we have used to paint the furniture in the Den. Mainly pinks! then used the dark purple Elegant Eggplant as background to ground it all. The paisley stamped pattern has been water coloured, then a few copper die cuts added. I have finished off with a few tiny pearls. No daubing, just clean stamping.

What do you think, wouldn't it look lovely in the neutrals, or blues or whatever colour you fancy.
