Weddings Something borrowed, diorama box card.

I have spent a lovely day crafting, well I didn't need to go out and the weather has been awful, snow, hail and howling icy wind. I was cosy, warm and quite inky. The craft room looks ........ well what can I say.
Today I have a special card to share. This is a special make for a special couple. The designer paper is in the spring summer brochure, 'something borrowed' and the stamp set is 'Your perfect day' I have stuck to sahara sand and whisper white card to match the paper then added a splash of 'blushing bride' pink flowers with  pearl centres to lift the whole card.
Of course this comes in its own box with some sahara sand lace on a belly band as the closure. The rectangle of white on the box could have the initials of the happy couple added and I have added a similar sized piece on the inside for the message.
I enjoyed this one!

Painted Petals for a workshop

Its the school holidays so I have been busy crafting today. This is a remodel of a project that was very popular some time ago.
I have used Rose red and Blackberry bliss card and the painted petals designer paper. The sentiments come from a number of sets and give the maker a wide variety of choice. The cards in the bag are all made from one sheet of designer paper. Sprinkle some rhinestones and a few bows and you have 6 very pretty cards. Fancy doing this workshop then contact me to book your place.

A frame but not for a baby!

A young lady contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would make a frame for her sisters birthday but her sister was a 'Marvel' fan, not a baby. This was something I knew very little about, superhero's! I wasn't even a fan of superman. Its amazing what you can find out on the internet so thats where I went and inspiration came quite quickly. We exchanged a few more emails about star wars and doctor who and this is what I came up with. If I had to start again there are many more things I could have added but they will be for another time.
The first picture shows the project before the finishing touches were added and before anything was stuck down.

I found the little Star Wars figure in a charity shop. I removed the gun so that he would fit into the box frame. I really liked the shape of his face and used this shape for the basses for the letters of the birthday girls name.
The tree surrounded by stars is an icon from one of the Lord of the Rings books.

I was going to use the marvel shield as the background but decided the colours were a bit glaring for a young ladies birthday so opted for Soho Subway designer series paper with crumb cake and chocolate chip card. The confetti star punch was great to add the milky way.

The owl punch was used to create the superman and the minion monsters. I had great fun creating the tardis. The white chalk ink daubed on the not quite navy card worked really well.

What a lot of fun I had putting it all together. I hope the young lady has a lovely birthday and thank you to her younger sister for challenging me to do this.

Well folks, sorry I haven't posted for a while the lurgy got me..... 3 days in bed then back to the day job finishing the week with no voice. :(
The sun has shone today and we have had the first lambs in the field behind our house so hopefully tomorrow will see the resumption of crafty mojo and good bye to the lurgy.
