A Heart for Mum

Sorry posts have been erratic the last fortnight, I have been away on holiday for one of those birthdays with a 0 at the end and its taken me a while to get back into normal routines again. Had a fab week in Cape Verde, really recommend it if you enjoy swimming in the sea and reading on the beach, also lots of waterspouts including scuba.

Back to crafting. Valentines day and Mothers day are coming up fast so although I have chosen to put Mum on this it could say 'love' or 'valentine' or similar. Even personalised with a specific persons name.

I love making these ribbon roses. I have now got so that I can sit watching TV making them. I am trying to make 3 or 4 in each ribbon that I have so that I have a box full ready for every eventuality!

The designer paper covering the wooden heart is from the 'Love Blossoms' stack. I have daubed the edges of the front with rose red and mint macaron. The back is also covered in the same paper but no daubing!
I have then cut the 'Bloomin Love' heart from the new blushing bride glimmer card. I have attached this to a piece of blushing bride card that I have cut freehand around the die cut. The small flowers are in the rose red card with a pearl centre.
The ribbon for the roses is the wide vanilla ribbon from the seasonal catalogue, you could use the jute ribbon from the annual catalogue, plus a little of the mint macaron lace. For the banner I have used the stamp from 'Bloomin Love' the die from the 'Number of Years die set and the back to basics alphabet for the wording. Somewhere in the mix is a small doily that I have daubed with the pink ink.

I think there may be another one of these tomorrow but in neutrals.

This was the best day of our holiday, sailing the ocean blue, under full sail, just the sound of the sea.
