Petite Petals for Crafternoon Tea

Next Monday afternoon is the start of a new venture. I have called it 'Cuppa, Cake and a Card'.
It will take place at Sarina's on Burnley road, Friendly, Halifax. I just hope every one is friendly and we have a good turn out.
As I expect most people to be new to rubber stamping I have kept the makes simple, but I still wanted something that looked impressive. With the new catalogue in full flood its easy to forget those favourites that are still there but well used, Petite Petals is one of those. It has 6 stamps and a matching punch.
As its the summer I have also added a punched out butterfly.
All is layered onto Stampin'Up notecards. Three colours, 3 sentiments to choose from.

Colours for the first one are Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant, the ribbon is Blackberry Bliss.
The sentiment is from the hostess set Happy Birthday Everyone which has 7 stamps, all really useful.

The second card uses Blue Lagoon for the ink, card layer and ribbon. I have also used the Pool Party candy dots for the centre of the flowers. The sentiment is from Flower Patch.

The Third card is a mixture of Tangelo twist and tangerine tango. The sentiment is from Butterfly basics.

This is the bag all ready to go. Just need to add the trimmer. Extra card and supplies just in case we are swamped with people. Fingers crossed. The more the merrier.

Gift Bag Punch Board Bags. Lots of them

I struggled to get going with creative stamping this morning so I got the boards out. The envelope board, the box board and the gift bag board. I had only used the Gift Bag Board at training so I thought I would have another go. Makes great bags for children's parties, delicate grandmother presents and even Christmas pressies.

I started with a 'Minion' Many thanks to Linda Higgins, www.lhiggins.blogspot.com.au
for the inspiration. I had a lot of fun with this one and actually made 3! Its all punched and no stamping. Wouldn't this make a cool goody bag at the end of a birthday party.

Number 2 box, notice the difference at the top. The Minion has a flap over the top and I have used velcro fastening. On this box I have used the second part of the punch action to put holes evenly around the top then threaded ribbon through. To be precise this isn't ribbon its the 'In colour' Mint Macaron lace.  It matches the card and the paper from the 'pretty petals' paper stack on page 144 of the catalogue
The sentiment is stamped on the card punched with the triple banner punch. The sentiment is from the hostess stamp set 'Floral Wings' The decoration is an In colour flower with a pearl in the centre, so pretty.

This is the bag we made at training. It has the flap over like the first bag but uses the lace like the second bag. The papers are from the 'pretty petals' stack on page 144 of the main catalogue.

How about the crocodile bag. This bag has a flap that I have attached the largest die cut 'deco label' This green is from this years In Colours, its called Cucumber Crush. What a brilliant crocodile. This is also cased from Linda Higgins. The teeth are made using the flags from the balloon die set. Tra la la Never smile at a crocodile.....tra la la.

Lastly knowing its only 22 Fridays until Christmas I thought I would make a start. A fun Christmas bag. I have put the punched out bag through inked wall embossing folder. Its a bit fiddly but worth the effort. It creates a great chimney.

The boots are made with the heart punch! then the pointy bit nipped off. The confetti star punch and glimmer paper just add a bit of sparkle to the navy background.

Wednesday Weekly Deals

Despite planning to craft yesterday I never got the chance. After distributing leaflets for my next 'cuppa, cake and a card' event, every Monday in August 2 - 3.30 at Sarina's I pulled the table back out after the visitors then remembered we had a professional photographer coming to take pictures of the house. Yes sadly our little 'bijou' house is on the market, so if you are looking for a cottage in a very rural spot in Yorkshire, Hebden Bridge and Haworth on your doorstep let me know.

I digress
'Weekly Deals' - 2 stamp sets this week. The first is one I have but haven't used much, this card I shared with you recently. The stamp set has a massive 30% discount.

The second stamp set I haven't bought YET! I know it has been a very popular one so I have an order going in tonight. I am treating myself and its a bargain with 25% discount.

Get in touch, email,  karen@krafting.co.uk to order your bargains.

Crafting, Visitors, other Inspirational Crafters.

Its been quite a weekend with visitors, the rain, much eating and drinking and visiting other members of the family.

I know many of you are in a similar position and don't have a craft room that is just for craft. My craft room is also our second bedroom, we only have two bedrooms our house is termed 'bijou' so when visitors come I have to put away the craft things. I wonder what you workspace is usually like here is a sweeping view of mine as it was last Thursday!

Now for the transformation for my sister in laws visit.

So that took a good number of hours to achieve as you can't see the piles of 'useful' items around the edge of the room that all needed a home!

My sister in law writes poetry, she has won prizes and been published, I am in awe. She did bring a number of other items to show me and this one in particular I wanted to share.
How many people have one of those hip flasks hidden away at the back of drawer. Well heres one that was, whats more the glass of the flask was broken so it wasn't really any use.

She gave it to a friend Peter Edmunds, thinking he might be able to use the leather pouch. This is what he gave her back.

Just look at the size of that cute pencil. It just fits inside the neck of the flask top.

He has used the original top and added the paper pack. He has stitched the parts together.

This is the back showing the stitching.

He makes lots of books from all manner of things I will post a link to his page when I have it. I think this is re cycling/up cycling at its best.

I will post a crafty make by me!!!! later today.

The link:-  All My Own Books (and possibly some others too) — This project was a recycling project. The...This project was a recycling project. The original hip flask was suffering from a broken neck. The neck was salvaged and the base of it sandwiched into grey board which was shaped to resemble the top...bookmanpete.tumblr.com

Graduation Frame

A quick post today of a graduation frame I was asked to make. This is the second one of these I have made. The frames are a special order, they are personalised and I try to interpret all the information you give me. This was also a quick turn around. I was asked to add lots of photos then decorate, I was also asked to write specific sentences around the edge of the mortar board, now my handwriting is not pretty but I think this has worked well in the white gel pen. The colours for the flowers and butterflies I picked to match the colours in the photos.
I hope it was a great day yesterday.

Here are a few of the other frames I have made

Now I have a wedding frame to complete in silver and white, I'll show you that next month.
