Refold and Penguins,

You will need to scroll down for the penguins but first.......

Well I went back to the card I posted yesterday as I just wasn't happy with it, then the OH said, why don't you try it folded the other way and Bingo. it just looks so much better.

Thats better.

And now for the penguins.
I really did want to cut the size down so I have reduced the height to a normal C6 card. When folded the whole card will squish into a standard envelope although I will make a box for mine.

This penguin from the Snow Place stamp set is so cute, I just want him to jump up and down and dance to the Happy Feet beat!

What do you think of this then?

Quick note: The classes and events page has been updated. Please have a look.

Better late than never......

A very late post and I stress this is a prototype. It doesn't have a sentiment, I can't get the sequins to show up on my photo's etc etc

I found this fancy fold here you will need to scroll down the page. Such a pretty card and I knew I could do something chritmassy with it. Tomorrow I am going to play around with the shape and re size, this is a bit large for me but it does look very dramatic.

Hope you like it.

Box Frame Winter scene,

Late post today as this is something that has been buzzing round in my head whilst we have been on holiday. Nothing to do with where we went either.
I love these box frames from a certain store, you can do so many different things with them. This is my first in a series. Although it isn't Christmas themed it does have Christmas elements. The deer or at least the antlers are very 'in' this year. I have had to take some of the pictures without the flash to give you a really good impression of the depth of the box and its scene.

I started with the background and the 'Lovely as a Tree' stamp set, just using the large single pine tree. This I have stamped, stamped off and repeated, I then used the same technique on the front inner frame. To get the land for the trees to sit in I used the ground from the 'Sheltering Tree' set.
Sandwiched between the two layers I have embossed then fussy cut the Woodland embossing folder in smokey grey card. Before embossing I have stamped the folder with the deer from 'The Wilderness Awaits' set. Lastly I have stamped a second deer and fussy cut out adding to the front.

I am so pleased with this. It has turned out just the way I hoped. I had thought of giving more colours to the sky, a bit Northern Lights but decided this would be too much. I like the simplicity of this finished piece. Hope you do too.

Have you got a stack of those lovely tartan cushions, some with stag heads on? This would make a lovely picture for your wall.

The two taken without the flash, funny how it makes everything look yellowed. But it does show the depth better

Curvy Keepsake box, vellum and confetti star punch go Christmassy.

I love this little box, the curvy keepsake box. I made these last year. They are made from vellum, just 1/2 an A4 sheet makes one box. Before sticking together I have punched one side with the 'confetti star border punch. Once you put a little battery operated tea light in they look really christmassy.
I had a few of these on my table last week when we had a house viewing (we are still on the market!), the lady viewing the house thought they were lovely and has ordered a few for scattering on tables at a winter wedding. Even the little star label which she is going to write on, so just punching out, no stamping there either.

Letters in Earth Tones

The soft Suede has to be the best shade in the neutral colours. This sentiment really does resonate at the moment. The background is stamped with a small bough in the Wonderland stamp set. I have touched up the pine cones with the gold pen, sadly no longer a Stampin'Up product.

Not sure if this is christmassy enough..........?

Colouring in for adults, plus sponging.......Heaven

Two of my favourite pass times in my crafty den is colouring in and even better lists of sponging. I posted this in reds and oranges some weeks ago. Here it is in blues and yellows. There is one on my desk in neutrals but its not finished yet!
This stamp is so great for colouring you could go make it match your decor or just go wherever the fancy takes you. I cut the sentiment away from the dove before I attached it to its wood block. I think this is going to have to be done in the box frame and as a swing out card.

I have added a swirl of silver thread but I'm not sure it adds anything so that will be very gently removed when I have finished posting here!
Again I have covered some of the swirls in Fine Tip Glue for a raised effect and some sparkle.

What colours would you use?

Remember the dinosaurs and the letters.....here the letters make Christmas

Inspired by some cards Amanda at The Craft Spa made I just had to have a go. Although they look clean and simple they are actually a little more fiddly, well I thought so. Getting the letters in a straight line and equally spaced I found quite testing!
Traditional christmassy colours with a little holly and berries to finish off. I have touched the berries with a tiny drop of glue from the Fine Tip Glue as it dries clear and gives a raised effect.
