Winter Wonderland white embossed.

Though I say it myself this one looks stunning in real life! To get the right mixture of black and white to make it look like snow took a few attempts to say the least. I experimented with white ink then black, black ink then white, white embossing then black and black ink then white embossing. I had black and white fingers and two pieces I was quite pleased with were thrown away due to smudged finger marks! Once I had got it right I was able to produce a few with no fingers marks. So top marks to white embossing then overstamped with memento ink, being not too heavy handed. The background paper has a fine thread of gold pattern on it so have mounted the sentiment on gold foil. The  poinsettia  punch was used with a sheet of the vellum to create the flower.

The whole card does have a shine to it that doesn't show up on the pictures.

Winter Wonderland

Just a pretty card. Black base, gold striped Designer paper from the Winter Wonderland collection. Wonderland stamped in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White card then the Fine Tip Glue Pen put to work. I have added fine glue lines across the branches of the trees then sprinkled the Dazzling Diamond glitter. The pot is never ending!

I have added the sentiment at an angle with the base layer under the Gold Glitter ribbon and the sentiment over the ribbon.

The inside has been layered with DSP and white card with the image stamped in one corner.

Training, trees and music

Once again it was our monthly training last Wednesday. I really enjoy these get togethers, we chat about latest Stampin'Up products and initiatives. Do a make and take then go to the pub for lunch. Its a great way to spend a Wednesday morning or Tuesday evening without the pub lunch of course!

Back to training, last Wednesday we made these two cards and bag with a tag. Lovely colour combination, crumb cake and pool party. The paper is one of the designer packs in the new seasonal catalogue, see link on the events and classes page.

Winter Wonderland

The next few days show cards with a bit of bling. Gold and Black being the theme using the Winter Wonderland Designer Paper.

First up:-

 Starting with a black base card I have then added a sheet of gold striped vellum. The trees are stamped onto plain vellum with Mossy Meadow green and stamped off. I have them attached this to a piece of the white shimmer card. I have added this at an angle and then cut the protruding corners off! When I was looking at the sentiment I wasn't sure whether to follow the proper horizontal or the top line of the white card, I am still not sure about this but friends say it works for them.  The gold satin ribbon and bow with the gold heat embossed snowflake and gold cord adding the bling.

Envelope Punch Board, Dinky little Chest of Drawers.

This is a cute little make. I remember doing one of these some time ago that was two tiers and the drawers opened in each direction. Here I have kept it as simple as possible. It was only when I had taken the pictures I realised that one of the papers goes the wrong way! Something to be aware of when you have a directional pattern!









The drawer handles are made with the new Iced Rhinestone Embellishments. They just bling this make up a bit. Hope you like it.

National Poetry Day.

Two posts in one day you lucky people.
My sister in law is a poet and a very skilled one I think. I asked her to do me a poem about my crafting. This is what she came up with, I love it.

Crafting Space

She lets the dishes drain
stares out at steady, greying, rain
half-hears the rising wind, the traffic’s whine
and turns instead to where she knows she’ll find
safe passage to a small, kind, wonderland:
   where every summer colour’s close to hand
   where winter’s perfect white is touched with gold
   where birds teach paper how their wings must fold
   where careful fingers lift a branching tree
   and link a chain of words in filigree
   to set them down, softly as a sigh,
   bright stitches on a satin sky.
To thank a loved one, greet a friend,
to celebrate a feast, or help a heart to mend,
she lets the dishes dry --
and her imagination fly.

A bit of fun with Rudoph

Do you ever have one of those days when you are doing one thing when something totally unrelated pops into your head, well anyway thats what happened to me this morning. I started with a clear desk, only the items for the Winter Wonderland class in front of me, lots of gold and black, Designer paper, vellum, ribbon and cord, embossing powder and iced gems. When lout of the corner of my eye I spied the box of reindeeer paper clips, well I had to have a look didn't I. They were all tangled together but once all sat in a row I could see red foil and a small circle punch and some vellum and the designer paper and those lovely little Stampin'Up notecards. I was off. Half an hour later here are the three little cards I made, cute, easy and quick.

 And for the inside. This sentiment is from an old retired set, but I thought it was appropriate.
