Wild about Flowers

Mr UPS came last Friday and brought me this new stamp set - Wild about Flowers. I do have a lot of flower sets and one of my favourite ones was the flower fields in the SAB catalogue but that has now retired. This I thought would be a good replacement. I have had a very quick craft this morning and come up with this and one that I will share with you tomorrow as its Card and a Cuppa this afternoon and although my bag is packed ready I need a project for me to do that is simple to pack away!
Todays card in Watermelon Wonder, love this but haven't used it that much.

I have a standard card base in Watermelon wonder, a piece of the English Garden DSP then I have stamped onto whisper white, finishing with the luscious watermelon wonder satin ribbon. The piece of card that I have stamped on I have run the edge across the ink pad to give it some extra definition.

The detail shows I have used the White Perfect Accents which are on weekly deals this week, check  the deals out here
A pretty card I am very pleased with.

One of my cards on my pinterest board has reach 1k repins. I am amazed, so I thought I would share. It was made for Mothers day but could be a birthday card and is easy to make in a range of colours.

The last picture shows the box with its ribbon. I am so pleased and look forward to lots of my other cards reaching the 1k mark.

Swaps

Well you saw all the bees I had fussy cut - 90 of them.
My sister in law posted on Facebook last week about Derbyshire county council wanting to raise awareness of the need for bees. I am very much in favour of this. My grandad was a head teacher of a large primary school. He had bee hives of the school fields and I have happy memories of using the centrifuge to spin the honey out of the combs.
Anyway I thought I would spread the word a bit.
My swaps
I have knitted a little bee with two wings and a hanging thread. I have not embroidered his face on - time being short.
The bees are then packaged in a cello bag with a topper in flowery dsp and the cut out bees on some acetate to make them look like they are flying in.

A very late midweek male card

Its been one of those weeks! We should have had new windows in our living room 2 weeks ago. The  4 fitters turned up at 8 o'clock in the morning but by 10.30 the windows still hadn't arrived, then last week 2 fitters turned up with the three very large velum windows on the roof rack! However one of the fitters was on crutches, by 11.30 they had established the windows they had brought with them were the wrong size. Yes you can imagine the steam......
Finally yesterday a team of three with a scaffold tower ( our living room is upstairs) and the correct windows arrived, thank goodness the weather was fine if cold. We now have windows we can see through at the front of the house but it seems to have been a very long couple of weeks. Its unsettling and I just don't seem to have been able to get into a routine.
Also its Telford this weekend, Stampin'Up conference for demonstrators. Its always a fun weekend but I have had to get cracking with swaps, they seem to have taken an age this time to make due to the above scenario.

The make today is my card for 'Cards and a Cuppa' at Innovations in Hebden Bridge on Monday, 3.00 - 4.30 no need to book just drop in.

The compass in the centre is fussy cut then the 4 points are painted with the gold  Wink  of Stella. A bit of bling for the men.

Paper decorations

Sorry no blog yesterday, I am busy knitting........ can't tell you until I show you on Saturday! But I will tell you its linked to all that cutting out I did on Monday.

At the moment I am thinking about classes for children in the summer. This first post I found on Facebook by an art teacher in Australia. I have made a very simplified in terms of decoration copy.
Its amazingly quick and simple to construct and once you have done one and understand how it goes together you could create with colour amazing ones......

The pictures are taken in my living room which has velum windows, it is tied to the blind but it could be attached to a plant stick, (those green ones that keep a plant upright)

I have just taken lots of pictures as it has twiddled around. I have used the Swallowtail stamp for the butterfly. I wish I had done these as my swaps as they are so quick and easy to do!

Not sure what I will be back with tomorrow, you will have to pop back to see! Have a good day.

Buzz Buzz Buzz

I wonder what you are doing this evening? I have atlas started my swaps for next weekend in Telford. For those readers who don't know much about Stampin'Up swaps are things that you make to swap with another demonstrator. Telford is where Stampin'Up hold their annual conference for demonstrators. Its next weekend and I am really getting excited.
I haven't had time to craft much today as I have been preparing for my first Craft and a Cuppa at Innovations cafe  in Hebden Bridge. I had a lovely time and 2 gentlemen of a certain age joined in. They enjoyed the stamping but the double sided tape got the better of both of them! I have a feeling they might both be back next week! I'll let you know.

Tonight I am sat cutting bumble bees for my swaps, can you guess how many?

I'll show you at the end of the week what my swaps are.

Christening Cards 2

Today I am showing you the card I did take to the christening. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

The heart embossing folder seemed right for this occasion to me. I love the little bird, Its not quite a dove but you can imagine. The cross I have cut freehand using a ruler and a pencil! Picking a designer paper was a bit difficult but I think this looks good.

I have found a lovely verse which I have printed for a paper insert.
Pop back tomorrow to see what the new week brings.
