Timeless Tulips with daubing!

I love a bit of daubing. This is the sort of background I really enjoy making. The tulips are then simply stamped over the daubing.

The sequins were a late addition again! But I do think they finish it off.

Tulips. leaves and stems simply stamped over the daubed strip of colour.

Timeless Tulips 3D

A bit of a change today, whilst rummaging in one of my 'stash' drawers I found the embroidery hoops that I bought a couple of years ago. They are a great way of creating a piece of home decor.
As the tulip stamps were still on my desk and I had seen a make by another demonstrator - Sue (sorry I can't find the link to her blog)  I thought I would use them and my  perennial essence punch.  It's a funny punch as it makes 3 petals so has to be stamped and punched twice to create a whole flower.
I have used leaves from the tulip set and a couple of other punched leaves.
Finding a ribbon to match was difficult, The white dotty tulle was a bit too delicate and disappeared on its own so I added a bow in pink, (some very old seam binding). I have painted the tips of the tulip flowers with Wink of Stella glitter pen.

Mixed media - White - theme

I have never really got into the ATC swap thing before. But these mini works of art have really captured my imagination. The theme for January in the 'Mixed up Creatives' group is 'White'.
I decided I would create two, one to swap and one to put in an album, thinking that in the future I might use them as inspiration.
ATC's are 31/2" x 21/2" so quite small and a great way of using up some of the scrap card stash. Not that I have any white card in my scrap stash!
It is also a great way to use up some of the mountains of other types of craft stash that I have. The lace had been in my sewing drawer for quite some time. I stuck this to the card with mod podge. The flowers and words are cut.torn from an old poetry book that I bought in a charity shop. One of the poems had very appropriate words so I have used these for the small torn strips. The beads inside the flower are from an old broken necklace. To finish off I cut a piece of white card to look like icicles then covered it with fine glitter.. Finally I added 3 snowflake sequins.
I really enjoyed putting this together. Roll on the February challenge!

#Simple Stamping Again

This card is a bit of a wow card but still simple stamping. The skill of it comes back to my comment from yesterday about knowing your trimmer. Once the layers are cut the stamping is simple and effective. I love this one can you tell???

The base is the same size as yesterday, I have folded back the front then cut diagonally across  this layer. Once deciding on the width of the strips of white card, I lay them onto the base card in place, then marked where they needed cutting with a pencil. This did look very steep when cutting but had to be correct. I them rubbed the pencil marks out.

I stamped the flower heads with Poppy Parade then the stems and leaves with mossy meadow. Just inking parts of the stems so as not to stamp over the flowers. Where the stems didn't meet the flowers and other gaps I used  a small paint brush and the ink pad to infill.

I have to admit the sequins were a last minute addition. It needed something but ribbon/bow didn't look right. I wondered about a couple of silver or gold sequins....... then I found I actually had 7 tins of sequins, all different, eek I am meant to be reducing my stash so I went a bit mad. But we all love a bit of bling.......... don't we!

Simple stamping

#Simplestamping has been part of Stampin'up! strategy for almost a year and its something I am not very good at. I like to daube, add layers, tie bows etc etc.
Today and for the rest of this week I am going to look at simple stamping.
One thing to help simple stamping is to know your trimmer. Plus what sizes cards and their matt layers are. I know this isn't stamping but being relaxed with cutting card and being confident about cutting matt layers enhances a simple card so much.
Todays make is just, simply stamped then the layers cut to fit. I have added a touch of ribbon..... well I couldn't leave the stem bare could I. I do love the polka dot ribbon. ;)

This is the Timeless Tulips stamp set. There are three flower heads, 2 stems and 3 leaves along with 7 sentiments. (There is also a matching punch available. ) The sentiment I have used is from the Itty Bitty Birthday set as I needed a belated card! I do need to sort my diary out.

I have also stamped and matted the inside and stamped on the front of the envelop..... remember never send a naked envelop.

A New Year a new me. I will be posting here most days but it will be a wild variety of posts as I move on from purely Stampin'Up  and further develop my knitting and sewing skills.

3D Card

I am kicking off the new year with a make that was inspired by an American demonstrator and instructions are on her blog- https://handmade-by-fanny.blogspot.com/  

I took it a step further after spending one very wet day sat fussy cutting one sheet of each  of the designer papers. This set of papers is wonderful the backs of the paper give some very delicately patterned background papers and the floral ones are so pretty.
The dotty paper is one of the back ground papers. The shoes , bags, perfume bottles and make up have all been fussy cut.

Designer paper

I know, I keep saying how much I love it. I think all of the papers in this years annual catalogue are beautiful.
Today I have a card which makes a good way of showing off most of a paper pack.
A friend who is running the card and a cuppa class I started up in Halifax was telling me about a diamond fold card she was doing. It was a fold I didn't think I knew so she popped all the bits in an envelope for me to make my own. From that I created my own template and found I could use 10 out of 12 pieces of designer paper on one card.
The paper I have used here is Garden Lane designer paper Its the pack I made 2 cards with that I was going to show you a few weeks ago, I still haven't found them!

The diamond fold...... side 1 using 5 paper designs.

Side 2 using 4 paper designs...

So just 3 designs missing from this lovely pack. I struggled to choose which side to add the sentiment, and then what to add. I remembered I had some of the leaf ribbon, a real I hadn't started, exciting another new to me product. Then I punched leaves with 2 different punches.

I have to say I love this pack of 'green' papers, its pretty, delicate, spring like, just beautiful.
